As with any electrical equipment, an EVCP should have a minimum of a 1 year guarantee on the EVCPs parts, but some manufacturers offer 2 years. Extended guarantees, to cover you for the cost of replacement parts, are also offered by some manufacturers. Typically these are offered for commercial charge points, but not for domestic points.
Your Rexel Energeasy Drive installer will be able to advise you what standard and extended guarantees are available from each charge point manufacturer.
It is especially important to check both the standard and extended guarantee on the EVCP, in respects of units that transmit data across your internal or an external network, due to the additional problems that can occur if the unit fails. For example, if it fails to accept a credit/debit card as payment; an RFID card in order to gain access to the charge point; or if it fails to provide the reporting information you need to cross charge your employees accurately, for the charging of their vehicle they undertake in the workplace.
Over time, electrical equipment can develop faults, so you need to ensure you are covered as much as possible within reason, dependant on the repercussions that may occur if your EVCPs failed to operate properly.
With any product purchase, it comes down to purchasing a quality product that is installed by a reputable EVCP installer, which is something that is checked and supported by Rexel.
